Fireless Cremation® was born so Ed Gazvoda opened his funeral home, in Colorado to. personally operate the first two Fireless Cremation® units, learning firsthand what worked, what didn't, and what funeral directors and grieving families actually needed from an alkaline hydrolysis system.
That hands-on experience became the foundation for Fireless Cremation®'s patented process — co-invented by Ed — using alcohol as a co-solvent to achieve complete dissolution at atmospheric pressure and roughly 160°F. It's a technology built to solve the real problems he experienced himself and other operators reported with first generation water cremation systems: long cycle times, massive water usage, incomplete dissolution, difficult loading and retrieval,greasy bones, and lost bone fragments.
